Want To Be Successful?

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make you way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1, 8-9

My dear sisters in Christ,

I hope you are well so far since my last post. As for me, I am currently on my workplace but I have no rush today (a true miracle from God!) and I decided to write this post to you. Since I have completed my reading list for this month, I was eager to share the secrets of success with you.So, if you want to be successful – God’s way of course – I invite you to start here!

I chose the verse from Joshua because they are so revealing about the foundations of success for any Christian, including us as women. So, I have identified three main steps for success:

  • Study God’s Word
  • Obey God’s Word
  • Be courageous

Foundation #1: Study God’s Word

Blessed are you, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes!

With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches.

I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.

I will delight myself in Your statutes, I will not forget Your Word

Psalms 119, 12-16

Studying God’s Word is the first foundation of success. King David understood it very well as he said in the Psalm 119 that he continually studied and meditated God’s Word. And guess what? He was a successful ruler and warrior, and everything he touched was turned into gold!

God’s precepts are here to show us the way of wisdom. They are the Truth. And when we live according to the Truth, we cannot be anything but successful. That’s why God insists so much on studying His Word.

God’s Work is a safeguard for us so that we won’t make mistakes; it shows us the ethics every Christian should have and what the way of life is.  God’s Word is also a spiritual food that we should eat everyday for our spiritual nourishment. Didn’t Jesus said that man shall not live from bread only, but also from every word coming out of the mouth of the Lord?

Therefore, let’s study God’s Word diligently, starting today! But now, after we study and meditate God’s Word, we must jump to the second foundation of success which is…

Foundation #2: Obey God’s Word

Therefore, whoever hears these saying of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.

Matthew 7, 24-27

I must admit that I love Jesus’ teachings – so practical! We shouldn’t just study the Word but also practice in our daily lives. We shouldn’t just know the Scripture by heart, we must live it. Litterally. The chance is that the Bible is a very practical Book. You have all the advice given for every aspect of your life, from faith to marriage, to personal development… The only step we have to take here is to trust the Lord and obey. Results will follow. Don’t forget that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek to do His will.

Foundation #3: Be courageous

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind

1 Timothy 1,7

Did you hear that? God invites all of us to be courageous because He did not give us a spirit of fear. Whatever you want to accomplish in your life, you will accomplish it if it is in God’s plan for Your life. Don’t be afraid to stand up for God and to do His will, and He will not forsake you. Moreover, it takes a strong character to be a Christian as you have to affirm everyday that you decided to follow God’s plan for your life; even if the society says otherwise.

And don’t worry about your enemies or toxic people. When God has decided that you will be successful, even your enemies will not be able to take your chances away from you. Just decide in your heart today that you will faithfully follow God, roll up your sleeves to work, start acting like the true strong Christian woman that you are and you will see by yourself what God will do for you!

Well, my sisters, I hope that this post will lift you up. Do you have other foundations of success that you want to share?

Please, as usual don’t hesitate!

Stay blessed!
