Walk your health!




 

My dear fellow Proverbs 31 women in progress,

Today, I’ll write a health post. I committed earlier this year to write some posts about health, as the Proverbs 31 woman is a holistic being. Don’t forget that she is an energetic and a strong woman!

I’ll share today why walking is one of the best sport to take care of our bodies and to stay fit. Many of us know that we should exercise, but we often hesitate on the sport we should practice because either we haven’t exercised for a long time, or because we don’t like to exercise at all – I won’t speak for people who enjoy doing sports!

Here are some benefits of walking:

  • Fighting against heart diseases and strokes: indeed, walking contributes to regulate blood pressure and to decrease the risk of hypertension. Walking is also a key sport to decrease the risk of getting some forms of cancer and diabetes
  • Strenghtening your bones: walking can help to prevent osteoporosis and the erosion of your bone structure
  • Reducing stress: walking is an effective way to remove your stress, especially when you listen to uplifting music or other content such as Bible verses or faith messages!
  • Sculpting your body: walking will help you to burn calories faster and to sculpt the lower part of your body (hips,thighs,legs)

Awesome benefits, don’t you think? Personally, I enjoy walking and I’ve never felt better since I started to incorporate a daily walk in my routine.

I believe it’s a safe and simple activity since you don’t need to learn new movements and new equipment – you just have to move your two legs, have good shoes, put your favorite praise music and you’re ready! You can add a foot pod if you want to watch how many steps you did during the day.

I currently commit to walk briskly 30 minutes a day, 6 times per week, after my prayer and a glass of water. I saw the results within a month: I am less stressed, I have increased my lung capacity and I sleep better. That’s why I validate brisk walks and encourage you to start!

However, I don’t recommend a specific brand for your walking shoes or your foot pod. I just recommend to buy good quality shoes, so that you’ll be able to keep them for years. I personally bought this kind of Asics shoes.
