My dear fellow Proverbs 31 women in progress,
Faith is a strange thing.
It makes you hope for things you don’t see in advance because you believe that the Lord will take care of you.
It may seem foolish to the ordinary man who doesn’t believe in God. But for those who believe, faith is everything.
And faith manifests in different ways. It can come by hearing, as we all know.
But it can also come or be strengthened through trials and pain. And that’s what we are going to examine today.
And the story of Joseph appeared totally appropriate for the topic today.
The story of Joseph
Joseph, son of Jacob represents a type of Christ through his entire life. He suffered a lot but he ended reaping the benefits of his unwavering faith in God.
Let’s examine the main events that occured in his life, shall we?
He lost his mother at a young age.
He suffered from the hatred of his half-brothers who were jealous of him because he was their father’s golden son. They sold him as a slave to Ismaelites, who brought him to Egypt.
When he arrived to Egypt, he was falsely accused of attempting to rape his master’s wife and was put to jail.
There, he was forgotten by people he helped…until his day finally came.
After explaining the meaning of Pharaoh’s dream, he immediately came from prisoner to Prime Minister…in a wink!
Isn’t that encouraging for all of us?
Persevere in faith
Personally, Joseph’s story is soothing for my soul. I’ve met a lot of personal difficulties these last two years which really affected me spiritually and mentally.
I’ve been laid off twice and everything I do seems to be delayed for a reason or another.
But when I look up to Joseph’s story, I definitely say that nothing is impossible to God and that all I have to do is persevering in my faith.
And I’ll continue to put my hope in Him because He is the Master of my circumstances.
Even if I don’t have the complete picture yet of why all these difficulties happen to me, I know that there is a greater purpose and lessons I have to learn.
If you are currently going through difficult times, look up to Joseph and never, I say never give up on God.
And He will not give up on you.
I’ll let you with this powerful promise:
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
In conclusion, continue to put your faith in the Lord despite your difficult circumstances.
I know it’s easier said than done, but if we faithfully follow Him on a daily basis, we’ll never regret it!
Well, that’s it for today? Have you found it difficult to keep the faith through your difficult circumstances?
